Philadelphia Orchestra Found in Chapter 11

Like many orchestras finding themselves is a sad financial state, the Philadelphia Orchestra is no exception.  I remember well going to hear the orchestra in the 1990’s under the direction of Ricardo Muti and Wolfgang Sawallisch in the old Academy of Music, the predecessor to the new glass-roofed Kimmel Center which was built in late 2001.  At the time I was taking lessons in high school from orchestra bassists Henry Scott and David Fay.    For the local new’s video on the breaking story:
