The path to being a teacher

This week as I am preparing for my DMA comprehensive exams I was reminded of a message a friend sent to me about 2 years ago in an email.  This brilliant individual was playing around with the latin word “ut” which translated means ‘in order that’ or ‘that’ (and also obviously standing for the University of Texas).  This is what he came up with which seems fitting as I reach the end of my 3rd year of coursework.

‘Doceor UT doceam’ : “I am taught (in order) that I may teach”

‘Doceor UT doctor fiam’ : “I am taught that I may become a teacher”

As to the brilliant individual you have mentioned, sometimes he goes dim.
