Closet Jazz Admirer

Okay, here’s a little confession: I really do happen to like Jazz- in particular some of later stuff in the Jazz Fusion era.  This is one tune I can’t seem to get out of my head.  What I like about Jazz is that it keeps me fresh and not drained with the same classical music day-in and day-out.   It’s very musical and I enjoy the expressive give-and-take nature of Jazz.

The tune is “James” by Pat Metheny and the bassist is Christian McBride (nice extended solo after the main tune).

Alternate version below with Steve Rodby (also a Northwestern Grad. who studied w/Warren Benfield back in the day)
