Celebrating the life of Johannes Matthias Sperger

Yesterday was the birthday of Johannes Matthias Sperger (March 23, 1750- May 13, 1812).  Sperger, one of the great doublebass virtuosi and composers from the latter half of the 18th century is most recognized by modern-day bassists for his large output of concertos and sonatas for the instrument.
