Mozart- Symphony #38, I. Allegro

I’ve always been a fan of Mozart, however as a bassist I constantly come across symphonies #35, #39, #40, & #41.  This Monday night at 7:30pm, the University of Texas Symphony Orchestra we will be performing symphony #38 “Prague” in Bates Concert Hall.  This symphony, although not on the usual ‘list’ of symphonies is fantastic late Mozart.  In this particular clip (the Allegro of the 1st movement), I can almost hear snippets of the ‘Magic Flute’.  Isn’t it cool how composers can get so much mileage out of their own music!   I hope to see you there…. enjoy!
